Trauma, Emotions, & the Body
COMPONENT 1:
Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP)™
Level 2 certificate covers theories and skills applications. This training offers online self-paced Course Study modules consisting of 20 online lessons designed to engage the multimodal adult learner.
4-DAYS SKILLS-BASED TRAINING:
- Day 1: Online Live Webinar (October 11th.,, 25th. November 8th., 29thl,) Time: 8:00am to 11:00 am PDT
- Day 2, 3, & 4: In Person (April 2026, TBA).
- ARRIVAL
- DEPARTURE
- 37.5 to 50 hours practicum (1.5 hrs. to 2.0 hrs.)/session
- 6 Group clinical supervision paid directly to your supervisors ($600 CAD, not include in tuition fee)
Practicum hours can be obtained via 2 options:
- Within your training training group
- With your own clients, people you know
- With clients referred by Integrative Somatic Studies Institute
A human touch is vital for growth and development. While food may be a necessary source for survival, TOUCH is what sustains us. Research has linked poor health outcomes with touch deprivation. Increased anxiety, depression and stress has been found to be directly correlated with decreased touch. Touch also been found to calm the nervous system and slows down the heartbeat. Additionally, human touch lowers blood pressure as well as cortisol (stress hormone). Touch stimulates the release of oxytocin, a hormone known for promoting emotional bonding to others. In ISTP, we use to TOUCH to attune to our clients to foster trust and safety in a therapeutic relationship. We offer touch as a reparative process to that which was ruptured during a traumatic experience. In ISTP we offer touch with intention, sensitivity, and HEART. ™
COMPONENT 2:
Integrative Somatic Bodywork
Level 2 certificate in Bodywork has it’s lineage in Restorative and Embodiment yoga, Ayurveda and Thai Yoga Massage. Completion of this training permit registration as a Bodywork Practitioner with NHPC.
3 DAYS SKILLS-TRAINING
- Day 5, 6, & 7: In person training (April 2026 TBA).
