CEREMONY is an essential part of Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice. We believe that physical and spiritual health are intimately connected: Body and spirit must heal together. Traditional healing ceremonies promote wellness by reflecting on ancient cultural conceptions of Spirit, Creator, and the Universe. They can include prayer, chants, drumming, songs, stories, and the use of a variety of sacred objects. To begin with, ceremonies or rituals connect us to the past and provide stability for the future. As we remember what has gone before, we are comforted by those memories to strengthen our present. In our trainings, a ceremony is offered to gather students together in community. We come together, support each other, and embrace unity in healing & learning.

NEW ADMISSION CRITERIA 2026
ISTP™ Level 1, 2, and 3 Trainings are specifically designed to prepare mental health professionals with specialized skills required to competently apply ISTP™ in clinical practice. Our priority is to ensure that ISTP™ is practiced within legal and regulatory guidelines for mental health professionals. Trainings build on existing knowledge and skills in mental health care thus, providing advanced education rather than foundational training. ISTP™ trainings are intended for continuing education and are not designed as entry-level education for those new to the mental health field or whose professional focus may not be mental health. The Institute does not serve as a licensing or accrediting body, and this shift in admissions policy reinforces our role in providing specialized continuing education. Our admissions policy clarifies requirements of ISTP™ training and supports the ethical practice of those we train. This new requirement aligns with the specific learning objectives and professional standards required for clinical practice using the ISTP™ model.
Admission to ISTP™ Trainings are designed for those who qualified and legally credentialed to work in a mental health profession. Students who have enrolled in level 1 prior to March 2025 are grandfathered into the program and encouraged to apply for admission.
